Alcuni allievi della Piccola Accademia dei Talenti hanno deposto alcune composizioni floreali di stoffa, da loro realizzate, sulla tomba di Francesco Benenato, in arte Franco Franchi.
Nato nel 1922 nel quartiere Capo, in via San Gregorio, nei pressi di Porta Carini, insieme a Franco Franchi, Ciccio Ingrassia fu protagonista di circa 140 film, spettacoli televisivi sia in Rai che in Mediaset.
La cinerassegna dal titolo "Franco e Ciccio... comici si nasce" è nata da un'idea di Giuseppe Moschella e diretta da Giuseppe Li Causi, storico di Franco Franchi e Ciccio Ingrassia.
Dice Li Causi: "Faccio appello a tutte le produzioni cinematografiche affinché questo avvenga nella speranza che qualche nostro artista corregionale possa recepire questo mio desiderio".
Inizia con diversi appuntamenti in programma il 2020 della Casa Cultura Santa Caterina a Monreale. Il ciclo di eventi è organizzato dagli assessori Ignazio Davi e Rosanna Giannetto ed è a cura di Giuseppe Moschella.
La cinerassegna si chiama "Franco e Ciccio... comici si nasce" nata da un idea di Giuseppe Moschella e sarà diretta da Giuseppe Li Causi storico di Franco Franchi e Ciccio Ingrassia
La piazzetta sorge in un luogo simbolo, perché qui Franco Franchi iniziava la sua gavetta artistica con la classica "Posteggia", ovvero facendo l'artista di strada.
Adesso si aspetta l'apertura del Museo delle Maschere di Palermo dedicato a Franco e Ciccio che avrà sede a Palazzo Tarallo nel cuore del quartiere di Ballarò.
La sua vera passione era lo spettacolo e spesso, da ragazzino, raggranellava qualche lira esibendosi come macchiettista, in feste di piazza o nei matrimoni.
Sin da giovanissimo, Giampiero, ha mostrato una particolare predisposizione per la recitazione e, a metà anni ’80, si diploma dopo aver frequentato il Laboratorio di Esercitazioni Sceniche diretto da Gigi Proietti.

Gentilissimo, sorridente, una persona d’altri tempi. Nel corso dell’intervista, seduti davanti il suo bar, tra un caffè e una bibita, mi confidò che, stranamente, in famiglia era considerato lui il vero comico, specie quando raccontava le barzellette, in gara col fratello Franco.
Nella sua lunghissima carriera fatta anche di teatro e di televisione, Camilleri - che fu anche regista e sceneggiatore - conobbe numerosi artisti. Aveva conosciuto anche Franco Franchi e Ciccio Ingrassia, siciliani come lui.
Il popolare programma ormai da anni dona nuova vita all'immenso repertorio contenuto nelle Teche Rai, recuperando sketch, canzoni ed esibizioni artistiche.
Dopo la presentazione, interverrà lo storico di Franco e Ciccio, Giuseppe Li Causi, noto per le innumerevoli iniziative volte a mantenere viva la memoria delle due maschere palermitane.
L’evento in co-partecipazione con il Comune di Palermo e la Commissione Cultura della seconda circoscrizione è organizzato in collaborazione con il Museo delle Maschere dedicato ai due comici siciliani che entro l’anno nascerà a Palazzo Tarallo.
